Petition statement: We, the undersigned, urge you, Minister Burke, to adopt a Population Policy that explicitly states population target bands for 2020, 2040 and 2060.
SPA is attempting to get 100,000 signatures or e-signatures of people wanting the Federal Government to adopt a long-term population policy. E-signatures (name and email address) will be collected via the SPA website at https://population.org.au/population-petition or by email by sending a message to petition@population.org.au with the words “Population Petition” in the subject and your name and other contact details, including post code, in the body.
This petition will be sent to The Hon. Tony Burke, Minister for Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities either at the start of June, 2012 or when 100,000 signatures are reached, whichever come first.
